I have very limited info but all verified with proper census and dates. My great grandfather Joseph Angell born 1819 warboys, baptized at st Ives, we cannot locate him with parents in any census. He joins the army in 1938 and there’s no info until 1851 at his marriage in India. I’ve driven to Utah, worked with geneolists there and we couldn’t find other documents. I’ve done DNA with 23 and me and My Heritage. I see common names but don’t know how to use the DNA to help hone in on names.

Does anyone have suggestions as to finding his family. He stated his father is John Angell but we cannot find a match and we’re still left without a mother.

Help 🙏🏻

1) I am guessing he joined the army in 1838 not 1938

2) you did not give us a link to him, and I do not see him on your Ancestor Report as one of your 4 great grandfathers
Are you using the specific term great grandfather as a generic term for ancestor or??
Suggest you give a link to the profile so it is tied to this Discussion.

I was certain I had replied. Sorry
Yes that was a typo. We did manage to find a couple descendants from my great grandmother’s child from her first marriage. The Angell family connections I find are scattered across the globe. It’s fascinating to see the various spelling and culture but very difficult to piece together with his very siblings or generations above him. He virtually lived without much evidence of his existence
