I am contacting you about this profile: Adam Meek, III

I received a private message from a relative that is also researching this line today. Apparently this Adam Meek has been confused with an Adam Meek in TN and it's all over Ancestry, family search etc -

"I've been trying to sort out a brick wall in my tree, and one of the confusions that is making it challenging is all the folks who have decided that Adam Meek and his wife Elizabeth Miller Meek (daughter of Robert Miller) of Mecklenburg and Cabarrus counties in NC are the same as the Adam Kennedy Meek and his wife Elizabeth Jane Childers/Childress of Jefferson County, TN. These two couples are not the same, and there was no such person as Elizabeth Childers Miller Meek, though you see this construction on many trees in Ancestry. These two men are related--in the same DNA haplogroup E--but they are not the same. If you are interested in this branch of your family tree, I highly recommend the Meek Genealogy Clearinghouse online. There's an overview written by Christopher Meek that shows on p. 11 the difference between these two men. If you prefer, you can also just google Meek Genealogy Clearinghouse and click on the articles link on the left of the screen.

I don't mean to be judgy--I know how confusing it all is. And it's so easy to think that people with similar names are the same, but, boy, did they ever repeat names back in the day! I hope this is helpful, and if you get a chance, please share this info with others who claim there is a person named Elizabeth Childers Miller Meek and that these two Adam Meeks are the same.
