As it came down thru my family, there was a raiding party of some sorts that headed southwest from Maine into New York along the St. Lawrence and lakes Ontario and Erie. and was followed by missionaries. Missionaries found her alone and emaciated after her family was killed by the raiding party, or parties, and returned to Maine with her. A part of the original Sandusky tribe that was broken up and fled north along the shore. I have a writing somewhere from my great grandmother about it buried somewhere in a book. If I find it, I will post it here.

That would help, as well as any publications.

Does anyone know why no native american dna shows up? How distant a relative would make this possible, if she was indeed native american?

It’s quite possible no DNA inherited from her survives in living descendants.

I remember seeing a post by someone (male) on wikitree who said his DNA came up with a Native American ancestor. He had no idea where it came from at the time, then he looked up his tree and found her. I wish I had contacted him back then ...
