The marriage record for Karen Nikolaisdatter and Erik Martinussen states her father's name to be NIkolai Olsen of Barbo.
The information below is based on two original records that can be viewed. One I have copied below.
Norway, Church Records, 1812-1938
Detail Source
Name Karen Nikolaisdatter
Marriage Age 30
Record Type ekteskap (Marriage)
Birth Date abt 1845
Birth Place Barbo
Marriage Date 16 jun 1875
Marriage Place Orkdal, Sør-Trøndelag, Norge (Norway)
Marriage Municipality Orkland
Father Nikolai Olsen Barbo
Spouse Erik Martinussen

Names in Norway can be a dilemma in that the person may have the father's first name with "sen" or "datter" added (most common in old records), or the father's last name, or the name of the place they were born or were living in order to differentiate them from other people with the same name, or their married name is the name in records. In this case I can't find the (Nikkolai) Olsen name associated with Nikolai Pedersen. Nikolai's father was Peder Nikolaisen -- had it been Olsen I may not have questioned this. I hesitate to develop Nikolai Pedersen further in my tree as Karen's father. If Karen had been born before the marriage of Nikolai and Andrea, I would not question the Olsen name, but they were married in 1840 and Karen was born from 1841-1845. I am still searching for her birth record. Does anyone have some input for this? Thank you.

If you start with Folketelling 1865 you will see that the parents is correct and you will also see the note that she is a twin which would make it easier to find correct baptism, which you find here: Ministerialbok. If you take a closer look Nikolai Olsen is not the father as mentioned in the marriage, he is one of the witnesses to the baptism, so there is probably an error in the wedding notes (also in also in Ministerialbok)

The error in the marriage could be caused by the fact that she was s twin, so the parents is only listed on the twin sister above Klokkerbok (transcribed)

Thank you for your speedy response to my discussion. Yes, I believe the parents are correct for this Karen Nikolaisdatter, but I question that she is the same person who was the mother of Ole Pedersen Barbo and married Erik Martinussen. Further research shows that a Karen Nicolaisdatter, the daughter of Nikolai Pedersen and Andrea Andersdatter, (or Pedersdatter as some records indicate) did not marry Erik Martinussen. She married a Fredrik Iversen.

I have not found a record for the birth/baptism of Karen Nikolaisdatter Barbo, but census records indicate about 1845. And she is eventually known as Karen Barbo in census records. So, I am still not convinced that Ole Pedersen Barbo's grandparents are Nikolai Pedersen and Andrea Andersdatter. Thank you for provided the links to the records. I have incorporated them into my Ancestry profile for your Karen Nikolasdatter. I look forward to a further response from you, if I have not frustrated you. Please excuse the spelliing errors in this message as the font is so small and my eyes are very elderly. Best regards, .Duane's sister, Donna Pagenkopf Libal

PS Have found a definite birthdate for Karen Nikolaisdatter Barbo in the 1910 Census. 10 July 1845 - birthplace Orkedalen.

And now I have found a birth/baptismal record that I would ask you to take a look at: if this link will allow you to access it.

This shows Karen Nikolaisdatter's father to be Nicolai Olson, but the mother is neither Andrea Andersdatter, nor Siri Olsdatter, but is stated to Maren Olsdatter. Where does this lead us?.

In review:

The marriage record, copied in the first message above, that I have for Karen Nikolaisdatter who married Erik Martinussen, lists only Nikolai Olsen Barbo to be her father, but does not state her mother's name.

The baptismal record for Karen Nikolaisdatter, whose parents were Nikolai Pedersen and Andrea Andersdatter, states that Nikolai Olsen Barboe and his wife Sigri Olsdatter were sponsors, so I assumed (incorrectly) that they must be the parents of the Karen Nikolaisdatter who married Erik Martinussen. (Did I misinterpret the portion about Sigri?)

A 1910 Census for Karen (Nikolaisdatter) Barbo who married Erik (Martinussen) Barbo, confirms who she is by her birthdate which differs from that of Karen Nikolaisdatter, daughter of Nikolai Pedersen and Andrea Andersdatter.

This is like a math problem in geometry, proving who is who, etc. I have tried to explain it clearly, but I am confused. I see that you are from Norway, and perhaps can help sort this out if you would be so kind .............Best regards, Donna Pagenkopf Libal
