A previous version of this profile claimed that the emigrant to Connecticut was John Alling, son of James Allen and Margaret Coppin born or baptized 22 Nov 1629. That couple did have such a son, John Allen, but he remained in England.
The John Alling of this profile was in all probability a cousin to that John Allen, and he likely hailed from the same town -- Kempston, in Bedfordshire -- but his birth record and his parents' names have not yet been identified with certainty.
