The only note to this DNA is :"I am now G-P287 "There seems to be confussion. Also the tree does not trace back to the Private doner.
Source info and reason for adding are required please help.

This profile was merged with other users. So, I am not sure who added what.
I have now gained access for the first time and will fix what I can fix from my side.
Regards

Sonja, thanks for the help.I have established that the doner himself posted on Fam search{LDS} and on his version of his tree,he is connected to the other Jean..Apparently there are two other tests ,relating to our Jean--Both Big 7.Any knowledge of such tests?

To tell you the truth - I am only sure that my facts are straight up to about my great grandfather.

With all the merging and being unable to delete - it appears to be a fine mess.

To answer your question - I haven't really looked at these things for a few years, so, I am not aware of any tests.

Sonja Kantley-thanks for the possible inaccuracy after your great grand father.. I had asimilar problem where mt findings differed from the accepted..Now curious to see if DNA match..There is a lot of conflicting and "private" info in the mid 1800's with the le Roux and associated families. Pardon my "is and are's'-ek is Afrikaans.
Lets hope time will tell

Gideon Hendrik Niemann le Roux seems to be source of the Y DNA that propagated to Jean.

Jean le Roux, SV/PROG 3
his father → Pierre le Roux
his father → Pierre le Roux
his brother → Jean le Roux, SV/PROG 1
his son → Pierre 'Pieter' Janszoon le Rosis / le Rioue / le Roux, b2
his son → Jan le Roux, b2c1
his son → Johannes Gerhardus Le Roux, a1b2c1d4
his son → Abel Jacobus Francois le Roux
his son → Petrus Johannes Le Roux
his son → Petrus Johannes le Roux
his son → Cornelius Willem le Roux
his son → Gideon Hendrik Niemann le Roux
his son

connection relies on the link between Jean le Roux and Jean le Roux being valid.

There seems to be no source validity that backs up a Pierre le Roux as the brother of Pierre le Roux It seems unlikely. Disconnecting the former, pending sources.

And we lose the DNA propagation. Pity, but rather have a valid and proved link.
