This is an attempt to clean up the Christian / Fleming branch. My source is ''Life and Times of Judge Caleb Wallace
Some Time a Justice of the Court of Appeals of the State of Kentucky'' by William Heth Whitsitt (c.1888, printed in Louisville, Kentucky).

Caleb Wallace was Col. William Fleming's brother-in-law, as both men married daughters of Capt. Israel Christian and his wife, Elizabeth Starke. Israel came to Augusta, Virginia from Ireland ca. 1740 around age 20, having been preceded by his uncle Gilbert and cousins John, Robert, and William.
Beginning with the Israel Christian line:
Capt. Israel Christian m. Elizabeth Starke ca. 1741-2. They had six children:
1. Col. William Christian m. Anne, sister of Patrick Henry, and had six children:
*** Priscilla Christian m. Alexander Scott Bullitt (son of Cuthbert)
*** Sarah Winston Christian m. Dr. Walter Warfield
*** Elizabeth Bowyer Christian m. John Dickinson
*** Anne Henry Christian m. Gen. John Pope
*** John Henry Christian, unmarried, s.p.
*** Dorothea Fleming Christian m. Rev. Dr. James Fishback, s.p.
2. ANNIE Christian m. Col. WILLIAM FLEMING (see their line below)
3. Elizabeth Starke Christian m. Col. William Bowyer
4. Priscilla Christian died unmarried age 18
5. Mary Christian m. Col. Stephen Trigg
6. Rosanna, second wife of Caleb Wallace
Of the supposed uncle and four cousins of Israel, Gilbert Christian m. Margaret Richardson; John m. Margaret Wilson, Robert m. Isabella Tiffens, William m. Mary Campbell (aunt of Col. William Campbell of Kings Mountain fame), and Mary m. Col. George Moffet.
This well-researched genealogy proves the wife of Col. William Fleming was ANNE, daughter of Israel Christian and Elizabeth Starke. She was NOT "Anne Henry" Christian (daughter of Col. William Christian and Anne Henry, also wife of Gen. John Pope, their niece).

Now the Fleming line. They are thought to be descended from a powerful Norman family of Flemings whose ancestor, John received a grant of an estate in Westmoreland. Later generations fell onto hard times and sold the land, relocating to Scotland where they lived comfortably.
I. Leonard Fleming, b. in Westmoreland, m. Dorothea Satterthwaite there, before selling the property and moving the family to Jedborough, Scotland, where their son, Col. William Fleming was born. Later Leonard moved the family again, to Dumfries, where William was educated.
II. Col. William Fleming joined the navy as a surgeon and evidently continued in that practice after landing in Virginia. He m. Anne Christian (NOT "Anne Henry" Christian, her niece), became very wealthy, and they had six children:
1. Leonard Israel Fleming (b. 1764), m. 1st: MARY BOWYER (his first cousin). They had five children: Nancy, Dorothea, Rosanna, William, Leonard Israel Jr.); m. 2nd NANCY BACY and they had ten children: Mary, Elizabeth, Sophia, Anne, Susan, Sarah, Matilda, John, and James.
2. Elizabeth Fleming m. 1st Rev. Cary Allen (Virginia Presbyterian minister); m. 2nd Rev. Samuel Graham Ramsey (Tennessee Presbyterian clergyman).
3. Dorothea Fleming m. James Bratton (one of their descendants is said to be Gen. Joseph E. Johnston, CSA).
4. Anne Fleming m. Rev. George Addison Baxter, D.D. (Virginia Presbyterian).
5. Priscilla Fleming m. Samuel Wilson near Florence, Alabama.
6. Maj. William Fleming, state legislator from Huntsville, Alabama, m. Sally, daughter of William Lewis of Virginia by his second wife, Nancy McClenahan; s.p.
