His death record lists him as born in England to parents G T FARRELL and Ellen Louise GORMANSTON.

What is the evidence for him being born in Australia to Thomas Farrell, Convict "Dunvegan Castle" 1832 and Ellen Farrell, Free Settler "Aliquis" 1839 ?

I do have a picture of Patrick that is signed by him with a note to my grandmother’s mother Mary Maud Canvin. Patrick was Mary’s uncle.

It states he was born in Essex England - it looks like he lied about his early life potentially due to the stigma of being the child of a convict.

1910 census he said he was born in India
