Does anyone have any information about who Thomas Campbell's parents were? Some genealogy websites assume that Thomas Campbell is the son of Thomas Campbell II, born 1672 in Torryburn, Scotland and Jannet Thomson, born 1682. If those are the parents of Thomas Campbell, then he can be traced back to Scottish nobility, including Duncan Campbell, 1st Baronet of Glenorchy. However, I'm not so sure that these are Thomas Campbell's parents. He is more likely of Scots-Irish descent, and his parents were born and married in Northern Ireland.
Please...if anyone has done research on the ancestors of Thomas Campbell's parents and lineage, please reply to this comment. I'm a descendant of Thomas Campbell and am trying to determine our Scots ancestry.
