I had this Nehemiah connected in my Ancestry tree with the parents as here on Geni but just today noticed that none of the trees in his Hints show the parents as John Posey IV and wife Mary. They all have his mother as Anne Dent but his father either as Joseph Harrison Posey or Benjamin Posey.
The notes in Nehemiah's profile don't include any info to help clarify which set of parents are accurate. However, I've seen Nehemiah's wife Rebecca's maiden name as Dees and Trauntham, and some of the Hints on Ancestry shed light on her lineage. I'm attaching a couple of screenshots from a document on Ancestry entitled Historical Southern Families. Volume XVI Allied Family Dees. It lists Rebecca among the children of Shadrack Dees and his wife Grace and gives more of the Dees lineage going back. It specifically mentions Rebecca having married Nehemiah Posey. There's no mention in the genealogy of any Native American ancestry but that doesn't mean none existed. For example, Shadrack's wife Grace's maiden name and her lineage is not given.
So while this info helped further identify Rachel's Dees lineage, it didn't help me resolve the question of whether I'm related to Nehemiah on a Posey line or not since there is no consesus of his parentage.
