William Thomas Barron was born ca. 1782 in the area of Rock Hill, South Carolina. He was the son of Samuel Barron and Lashoma, a Catawba Indian. Indian Land Presbyterian Church of Rock Hill, South Carolina was built on land purchased from Lashoma's tribe.
