This isnt directed towards you Debbie, but does it really matter? They have messed things up on here so much, that several people I know have left Geni. I know I am related to a lot of people who have had information changed that I am now disconnected from. Guess what? That doesnt change anything, dna doesnt lie. Im still related to them, have proof, and have them on trees elsewhere. Thanks so much to them for making the experience on Geni a bad one.
I know all you say is true, Sarah, and it's frustrating. Still, things get copied and pasted from Geni (and other sites) and errors get perpetuated. First thing you know, there is even more misinformation out there. So when and where I can, I do try to keep it accurate for future
generations.
But, I'm glad Erica mentioned put the ethniciy in the field for that. I hadn't thought to do that on our Native lines but I'll try to remember to do it going forward.
Anyway, the reason I brought up her middle name as Cheorkee is that I believe she was ethnically Cherokee, just not that it was her middle name. Listing her as a Cherokee person but not with her ethnicity as her middle name doesn't change anyone's relationship to her or change their Native lineage via her. No lines were disconnected. The only only things changed were listed her name as Sarah (Thomas) Hester and listing her ethnicity as Cherokee.
