DNA matches will see private persons too?

I found that after connecting with FTDNA, those matches, including very distant ones, will get the detail of private people in my tree as well. How can that be avoided?

DNA Matches get to see the name of the match on Geni, even if it is a private profile.
But that is all.

If you connect to the person as a relative - whether or not a DNA match - that is different.
You can see everyone in your Max Family.

Also different -- did you upload your Tree to FTDNA, and is that what you are talking about?
