I just posted a document to Sources. It is a court record for Frances' mother Ann Posey. She signs acknowledgement of receipt of property she inherited from her stepfather, John Belaine, 2nd husband of her mother, Elizabeth. The document is dated April 1669. She is named as Ann Posey - her maiden name - not Ann Mould and in the document she mentions her intention to marry John Mould - meaning they were not married at the time this document was signed in April 1669. Makes it very unlikely that Frances Mould Fugate was born before spring of 1670 at the very earliest, which means she was too young to be the mother of Josias b 1672 and James b 1676. I do not believe that Dorothy Petty Fugate was the mother of Josias, either - reason being, in her 1714 will in Essex County, VA, she leaves all of her worldy goods to her "beloved godson, nephew, Thomas Wyatt" Thomas was the son of Dorothy's younger sister, Katherine Long, Tunstall Wyatt and her 2nd husband, Captain Richard Wyatt. Dorothy makes nomention of any children in her will. IF, she was the mother of Josiah and others - as many people claim - they were all living still, in 1714 but aren't mentioned. If she had children, why were they not named in her will? I believe the reason is she had no children and that's why she leaves everything to her nephew. I have a copy of Dorothy's will. It is also the will of her 2nd husband, Godfrey Stanton/Staunton. He makes no mention of children, either.
