I'm not certain that Susanna Ziegler Schumacher was married to Hans George Ruch.(Hans George Ruch, Sr.)

Checking her Find a Grave, we find only one spouse listed, and all children listed bear out for the date she was married to Herr Jacob Schumacher.

From the notes on her memorial, it seems she may have been married to, or her mother's maiden name may have been Schueler. (Schüler)

Her father was a preacher for the Skippack Mennonite Meeting group, and it seems the Ruchs fell half-half on the Mennonite and Lutheran side of things.

Does anyone have any solid documentation from the Lehigh Valley Heritage Society or books/church records that can be cited here?

Many thanks,

Jennifer

I have been unable to find a copy of Hans George Ruch, Sr's will, but documentation mentions that it is mentioned in his will that he had nine children, four boys, namely: John, Jonas, George and Christian; and five daughters: Eva, Susanna, Margaret, Rebecca and Catharine.

I also found via documentation on Ancestry & on WikiTree - on November 13, 1704 in Uhrwiller, of the Northern Alsace, Hans George Ruch, Sr married Catharina Burkhard. Catharina Burkhard was born probably about 1685-1690. She is the daughter of Johann Burkhard.

His second wife is recorded thusly; In 1707, somewhere still in Alsace, he married Catharina Reiss. Catharina Reiss was born in Alsace about 1687, the daughter of Balthaar Reiss.

George brought his wife (Catharina Reiss) and family to America by way of Rotterdam Holland and the British merchant ship "Samuel", arriving in Philadelphia - recorded at the age of 48 on 17 Aug 1733. Catherine died sometime later.

Around 1734, in Northampton County Pennsylvania, he married Susanna __________.

On July 28, 1741 his third wife Susanna appeared on the baptismal record of Frederick Traxel at the Egypt Reformed Church of Northampton County Pennsylvania.

He and Susanna attended the Jordan Lutheran Church which today still stands as a much newer structure, but still upon its original site at what is now Walberts, Pennsylvania.
