Peder Johan Ask - Peder Johan Ask date of death

I believe this individual was my great-grandfather. Given that his son was born in 1894, his listed death in 1889 makes no sense. Has anyone seen a death record? My suspicion is that he may have emigrated in 1889 but did not die in 1889. Rather, there is evidence based on his son's recollection that he died in 1898 or 1899. Sincerely, Lawrence Ash
