Only war service was under surname Reynolds. He never served Australia under his real name. So, forget everything you read about that, I have verified he didn’t serve under his legal name. I have written proof but if I put anything like documents and pictures on the web it gets owned by the web sites. He may have served in the Boer War. If you research him and you are looking at the local papers where he lived he was known as Jim Palmer.
The Reynolds family were family friends.
That house he owned in Hampden Street, Dubbo was originally painted red. It and the houses north in Wingewarra Street were all built at the same time. The verandah in the front was built over into a lounge room by Henry Ernest Fisher’s brother William John Fisher. It used to have a beautiful plaque at the original front door, on the right, SHIRLEY.
