I have author Jean Stiger Berlekamp's two volumes 'I Hoke, bequeath' which covers the family of Johann George Hoke, Sr. According to the author he had five children: Mary Magdalena Hoke who md Rev. John Conrad Bucher, Sr.; Benjamin Benedict Hoke who md 1st Margaret Linder and 2nd Julia Ann Shrader; Barbara Hoke who md Andrew Jackson Miller Sr.; George Thomas Hoke who md Dorothea Eckman; and Johann Peter Hoke who md Isabel Moore. This Johann Peter Hoke of Uniontown, Fayette County was known as Peter Hoke the younger by some historians.
Johann George Hoke, Sr was a brick mason. (He died before his father, Johann Jacob Hoke, the immigrant died.)
It is likely some of Johann George Sr's sons were also brick masons having learned the trade from their father.
Perhaps his son, George Thomas Hoke, was a brick mason.
My 3rd great-grandfather, Thomas Hoke (c 1789-1854), was a brick mason living in Westmoreland County, PA and I believe he may be a descendant of George Thomas Hoke, son of brick mason, Johann George Hoke Sr.
Autosomal dna matches are pointing to this possibility but source evidence is still being sought for proof.
I look forward to additional discussion from other George Thomas Hoke md to Dorothea Eckman descendants.
