In this [https://www.federation.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/tribune-26... article], it says that Rabbi Gordon was born in "Chernany", a village close enough to Svir that he was taken there for his bris milah.
Cherniany, near Brest, is nowhere close to Svir.
However, there is a village called Cherniaty, which is about 30 miles away from Svir.
It can be found on Google Maps [https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Chernyaty,+Belarus/Svir,+Belarus/@5... here].
Note the close proximity to Svir, Smarhon and Svencionys, all places associated with the Gordon family.
