It seems increasingly likely to me that Zany Downey is connected to the wrong Corbitt clan here on Geni. Yes, there is currently a brother listed by that name, but he lived his entire life in Georgia. Meanwhile, there was indeed a Daniel Corbitt who lived in Shelby Tenn, as documented here: https://www.ancestry.com/family-tree/person/tree/44416601/person/69...
