The overview on her profile states their are three sets of parents identified in her sources, and questions which is correct.

There is no answer provided - so who are her correct parrents? - Nickolas Harrington and Isbell English (as stated on Family Search and WikiTree), Robert Harrington and Isabel Loring (as stated on her Geni Profile) or someone else?

From Suzanne's reply - the geni profile listing Eliz parents as Robert and Isabel Loring is incorrect as no child named Elizabeth is listed in her citation.

Is there similar scholarship supporting her parents as Nicholas and Isabel English?

Jefffey Gorton, it is a confusing mess, isn't it? The Wikipedia entry for Sir John II Stanley, titular King of Mann states that Elizabeth is a daughter of Nicholas Harrington.

John Harington NOT Robert Harington, 3rd Baron as the father

I think there’s always been controversy on the identifications in this area. Can we try going deeper than Burke’s into Medlands and the Google group, soc.Gen.medieval?

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Harrington-267

Other sources have named other parents for the wife of Sir John Stanley. See the Research Note pertaining to his Wife in the profile of Sir John.

Research Notes

Wife: Richardson[17] concludes that Sir Nicholas was the father of Elizabeth, John's wife, not Sir Robert, 3rd Baron Harrington or John de Haryngton of Hornby Castle,[18] as have been cited elsewhere. His basis is that Elizabeth's granddaughter, Margaret, is listed as the great granddaughter of Sir Nicholas in her papal indult to marry her second cousin, John Boteler, who also was a great grandchild of Sir Nicholas.[19]

Comments

MedLands extract starts here and first John named is Stanley-1780.

Cawley says this profile's wife Elizabeth Harrington-1287 is the daughter of John (so presumably sister not daughter of Nicholas). But no source cited and the dates don't seem to work. Also it doesn't agree with the relationship in the dispensation mentioned in this footnote. https://books.google.com/books?id=kjme027UeagC&pg=RA2-PA265

Private User any thoughts? For England I sometimes find Richardson presents a better case than Cawley.

Do we agree?

I'm convinced Elizabeth's parents were Richard Harrington and Isabel English. Thanks for you expertise and efforts.
