Joseph Friend, of Elkton, Illinois - What if Joseph Friend (of Elkton, Illinois) Wasn't Born in Ireland, But Ireland, Lewis County, Virginia?

I have been busy perusing the records from overseas, since the Find-A-Grave suggested he was born in Ireland. While I haven't found him in Ireland, I did find one in Kent County, England. I decided to give Ireland, yet another try. This time, as I was all set to add the place of birth I typed in Ireland and there is that happy little dropdown menu and I see for the first time how many places have a town named Ireland. So, I have decided to explore this avenue. For grins and giggles, since what do I have to lose, I chose Ireland, Lewis County, Virginia. Now it is listed as West Virginia, but I happen to know that state didn't become West Virginia until 1777.

Could I be on to something? What are your thoughts?
