Uploading a Gedcom

Hello :) I recently uploaded a Gedcom that proved too big for Geni. I got a couple of very helpful answers to my query, including one from someone who suggested I shrink my Ancestry tree down to 100 bite 'people' then upload in those small bites. I was just wondering if that person was still around or in anyone else has tried this?
I have over 55,000 on my tree so it would be a good idea but I could be going from now until 2025, any other suggestions?
