I ended up here because these folks are in the tree of a DNA match for me on Ancestry. They have Dempsey's parents as George William Dyess and Elizabeth 'Betsy' Everitt, which matches the William and Betsy connected here on Geni, but since I don't know these lines I can't vouch for my match's tree accuracy - which is why I came to Geni to check the connections and ran into the problem of the conflicting parents.
