There appears to be confusion between the different Roberts in the family in various research documents.

There is the book Echyngham of Echyngham which appears to have errors:

There is also a document Echyngham Medieval Family 1100 - 1850 by Charlotte Carpenter Smith, which appears to have errors as well:

The profile of Sir William de Etchingham is locked even though the children are incomplete.

There is a son Robert de Etchingham missing who is present in the official genealogies. I have added the family tree from Echyngham of Echyngham by Spencer Hall, in the source tab for him.
I would add this myself but this profile is protected.
The son Robert is the father in law of Richard Wakehurst. Though them are descended Culpeppers. I have added him here:
