I've been trying to find documentation for Jane's parents. This sites only says her father 'may' be Henry Worthington and gives no info on her mother

https://sites.rootsweb.com/~paxson/griffith/Janney.html

On various web sites Thomas is said to have had three wives. But the dates don't compute. The problematic first wife was Ellen __, who bore a daughter "Aylce Janney, daughter of Thos. Janney" who was christened 7 November 1570. Ellen was buried 7 February 1578. But as the date is Old Style, it was really 1578/9. See an explanation of Old Style Dates. "Our" Thomas married on 7 December 1578 Jone or Jane WORTHINGTON [perhaps the daughter of Henry Worthington], which is obviously before Ellen had died; so Ellen must have been married to a different Thomas Janney. Jone or Jane was born 22 October 1560 and was buried 10 August 1589.[5] Thomas's second and last wife was Katharine CASHE, of Styall, married on 4 November 1590. She survived him.[6]

I know Family Search has her parents listed as Henry and the Lester wife connected here on Geni but without any sources / documents, which is often the case with the many erroneous connections on Family Search.

Find-a-Grave doesn't mention her parents:

Thomas Janney was born in 1542/1553 in Styall, Wilmslow, Cheshire, England. He married Jane Worthington on 7 Dec 1578, in Styall. Jane was born on 22 Oct 1560, in Wilmslow, Cheshire, England, daughter of Henry Worthington. Jane and Thomas had four children. Jane died and was buried on August 10, 1589, in Styall. All dates of baptisms, marriages and burials are taken from the Registers of Wilmslow Parish.

Children of Thomas Janney and Jane Worthington:
1. Randle Janney christened 23 Feb 1580; married Ellen Allred 14 July 1602;
buried 30 October 1613
2. Margery Janney christened 31 March 1582 in Wilmslow; buried 23 March 1591
3. Henry “Harry” Janney christened 7 March 1584 in Styall; died after 1601
4. Maude Janney christened 25 April 1587; married William Sidebotham on 1 May 1605;
died after 1672

There's nothing in Jane's profile or Henry Worthington's profile connected as her father actually proving their connection. So it seems to me that the connections here on Geni to her Worthington lineage is speculation and primarily based on speculative connections on Family Search via Gedcom uploads. When I logged into the Find My Past site linked in Jane's profile, I got this error message:

"500 Error

Well, that didn’t quite go according to plan..."

so I couldn't see the info on that site.

In cases like this, without documentation for parentage, I feel it's best not to make speculative connections that possibly give false pathways here on Geni. If documentation is found, the connections can always be correctly documented and connected.
