Biography: Buckfield- Shannon Lee Atkinson, age 65, of Buckfield, died on January 20, 2013 at home, surrounded by her family, after a long battle with leukemia

She was born on May 13, 1947 daughter of Bernard D. O’Connor and Winifred C. Russell

Shannon belonged to the Androscoggin Valley Art Assoc., the Maine Iris Society, the Second Amendment Sisters, the Kennebec Rock & Mineral Club and the Eastern Cashmere Assoc.

She worked as a Seamstress, Bookkeeper, Equipment Operator, Florist and Farmer

Shannon loved gardening and having her animals around. She raised goats and horses. They were her inspiration for her drawings and greeting cards. She loved nature and photography and was never far from her camera. She also enjoyed horseback riding, roller skating, bottle digging and metal detecting.

She was predeceased by Her Parents, Brother Bernard (Buddy) O’Connor, granddaughter Giselle Levesque

Shannon is survived by her husband Alan Atkinson, mother in law Betty Atkinson, children and their spouses Todd and Loni Levesque, Lance Levesque and Stacy Ludder, grandchildren Eirik Levesque, Scott and Kirk Bragg, Connor and Rhiannon and Melina Ludder, sisters Darcy Evans, Anita Chandler, Melody Thurlow, Colleen O’Connor and many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins

Graveside service will be held in the spring and are to be announced at a later date
