I received an email with the following incorrect information assigned to Monty (Montague Max Ostrowick FRCS). Because I don't have a Heritage.com account I am unable to change it.
If someone is able to do it, please alter the info, given below, for future reference. My knowledge of Monty's history stems from my marriage to his son, Richard, who is also the father and progenitor of this branch of the Ostrowick family in South Africa, and therefore is first-hand evidence given by me, as his daughter-in-law, and the mother of his grandchildren. Monty was born in Johannesburg South Africa, and not in Warsaw, Poland, and he was married to Veronica Theresa Elliot in June 1938. Their son, Richard, was an only child as a result of three miscarriages after his birth in 1949.
He was married previously, I'm not sure but I think in England during the 1920s, to Miriam Rosetta Freeman, After their divorce, Miriam emigrated with their daughter, Benita, to the United States, where she died in 1950, and I'm assuming, her daughter too, is now deceased given that she was considerably older than Richard, I am unable to trace valid family history for Benita, other than that she lived in California. I'm assuming they were married in England based on his telling me of having lived in and around Edinburgh where he worked as a lumberjack during his student years, while he was pursuing his post-graduate studies at the university there where he qualified with an FRCS. He also served as a medic with the rank of Captain during WWII, on an Italian prisoner-of-war ship off the coast of Italy. During that war, his wife Vera, and their son, Richard, lived in Johannesburg, South Africa, where all of them died. Monty died in 1981.
