A lot of living descendants of this Col. Daniel Boone. I am on bloodline relationship 11th, five times removed.

Have DNA match through my mom to a cousin who's great pa is brothers to my fifth pa. my 5th gram is Daniels aunt but still trying to get a papertrail for my fourth pa William John Martin is first cousins to Daniel and son of William Martin and Miriam Morgan because both my fifth parents died young and their children ended up in orphanage and my fifth gram Mirriam Morgan sister Hannah and her husband became guardians of the kids and possibly a couple were giving to relatives in Virginia or back in England They were quakers and crossed over seas a lot in the Martin family business also. This is why my third pa David G Martin travelled with his dad William back to Europe and came back with church stain glass window my third pa was a preacher at first congregational church also built it too.

Found my fourth pas last will only stating his wife Eleanor Martin and my third pa David G Martin and my 3rd pas brother George Martin. Probate court record Miami county , Ohio still chipping at the paper trail.

My third pa David was born in Mifflin county Pennsylvania and he and his parents moved to Ohio then came his siblings I believe then my third pa dealt with gold rush history moved to Butte county California 1840s and also in San Francisco where they transfered the Bridge from to Bidwell Barr which still stands today. Quaker records helped a bit though.

First cousin seven times removed.
I'm a direct descendant of Joseph Boone, brother to Squire Boone, Daniel's father.
Daniel and Joseph's grandson, Jacob Boone, my fourth great-grandfather, ran a tavern and keelboat shipping business in Limestone, Ky, that later was re-named "Maysville".
The tavern building was destroyed by fire about 80 years ago.

You had to be a bit crazy to be at Fort Boonsboro as well. In the last couple of years, I’ve discovered a great grandfather, whose family were amongst the first there. Apparently he was good friends with Daniel and they went out scouting out West together. It’s led me into reading a lot of the conflicts that went on in and around the western frontier of Kentucky during the American Revolution. In my opinion, it made the wild West look tame if you have not read up on it at all. I recommend that you do it would make things even more eye-opening for you.

Hi, Robert.
I watched a documentary some time ago that was about Fort Boonesboro, the capture of Daniel Boone and his men at the Salt Licks, and the Siege of Boonesboro.
They were fortunate to beat the Indians back and survive the siege.
And that was just one of the many attacks by Indians, not to mention the hardship of just surviving the elements from day to day.
Many of those people lived through the French and Indian War, the Revolution, and the War of 1812, and between the wars, constant skirmishes.
It's hard to even imagine.
