In the book "Halacha Lemoshe" It says that my great grandfather Rabbi Beinish Wartski is the grandson of Rabbi Eliakim Getzil of Alexander
.
I tried to find details about Rabbi Eliakim and the few that exist are not accessible to me because I do not have a subscription to that site(Ozar Hachohma).

I must point out that when it is written in the rabbinical literature, a grandson, it does not always mean the son's son, but it is also possible a grandson from several generations ago...

Does anyone have any information on who Eliakim Getzil of Alexander was?

Many Thanks

Town is Aleksandrow Lodski, which is a suburb of Lodz today.

Given the timeline, "Eliakim Getzel" is probably his given name. i.e. no surname, or at least none listed in Polish records. That complicates things, because that's a common name combination!

Some examples of people with that name:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eliakim_ha-Milzahgi
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elyakim_Rosenblatt
Rabbi Eliakim Gezel Rakower
https://www.encyclopedia.com/religion/encyclopedias-almanacs-transc...
https://www.blankgenealogy.com/getperson.php?personID=I267&tree...

My best guess is: R' Elyakim Getzel HaLevi Horowitz Reasons: 1) he married Rokhl Berliner, a family of rabbis from the immediate area of Aleksandrow Lodski (Piotrkow, Zgierz, Lutomiersk, Sochoaczew, etc.) 2) being born c. 1786 is the approximate time frame for the gf of R' Beinish. Anyhow this is another possibility for the list.

Haim Katz - Hachoen Wartski, you know R' Beinish's grandparents though, right? So we're probably not talking about a literal grandfather, but rather an ancestor.

Under the non-literal grandfather theory, here are a few more options: R' Eliakim Getzel of Lubartow bc 1590, and his grandson of same name bca 1645, who is not in GENI: Otser HaRabanim # 12766. I see no connection with Aleksandrow in these two. Haim, how certain are you of the four grandparents currently shown on GENI?

Thank you very much!!!

It is clear to me that we are not talking about a son after a son, but my great grandfather was his descendant either through his mother (her father was Rabbi Michael Krol - who was a son after a son to the Maharal from Prague and his mother was called Hannah, but I could not find details about her parents).
or through his grandmother, Hindel Wartski(nee Erlich) whose father was Rabbi Avraham Ehrlich and whose mother's name was Sarah, apart from that I don't know any details about them.

Regarding the Horowitz family, this is an interesting theory, because I "suspected" that through my grandfather I am also a descendant of the Horowitz family, but I do not know if the theory is true, and if so, how the family connection

regarding:
R' Eliakim Getzel of Lubartow
I read in various books about him, and I also "suspect" that the connection is through him (there are also names in this branch that correspond to him), but even if we are right, I do not know how my great-grandfather's family connection to him

Up to my great-grandfather(3): Rabbi Hirsch Wartski Hachoen (including him), the information that now appears in Geni is certain and I have documents about it..

.Am I son after son of Rabbi Yitzchak Katz - the son-in-law of the Maharal from Prague... As you know, this is a theory of Naftali Wakstein who, at my request, is looking for a certain descendant of his (son after son) in order to verify or deny this theory, but as of yesterday, he was unable to find a male who is definitely his descendant son after son and did a DNA test

Private User how do you know the place is Aleksandria Lodski rather than Aleksandria in Volyn?

You're right, I don't. I assumed based on proximity to Kalisz.

I looked more in detail about
R' Elyakim Getzel HaLevi Horowitz
And it seems to me that you have made a discovery: first of all the names are certainly familiar to me from the Wartski family, and one of his daughters
Reela Bejla Fogel

Was married to my great uncle from the Halter family - from whom I am descended through my great grandmother
Rebbetzin Malka Rywka Wartski/Mayrantz

The question is, am I indeed his descendant, and if so how?

I hope the connection works somehow. Please note also that R' Elyakim Getzel is a direct descendant of Rabbi Shimshon ben Betzalel Loew, ״Harif״ the brother of Maharal Prague, which is quite close to the Maharal.

My father told me that both of his parents were descendants of the Maharal from Prague...

I went with Naftali Wakstein on my family tree and things do work out:
Through my great-grandmother
Rebeka Rifke Wartski
I am a descendant of the son of the Maharal from Prague
And through my grandmother (through my 5th great grandfather):
R' Moshe Parnitchover
I am also a descendant of the Maharal from Prague
According to Naftali Wakstein these two connections are with 100% certainty.

The question that remains open is: Am I indeed a son after son of Rabbi Yitzchak Katz - the son-in-law of the Maharal from Prague

Regarding the fact that The Kozker Rebbe is a descendant of the Maharal from Prague, things are open and uncertain

Good work Haim. Looking at the pedigree of Rebeka Rifke Wartski on GENI, there seem to be lots of Krolls on both sides. Could it be that something is off in this area and that perhaps this is the area where R' Elyakim Getzel HaLevi Horowitz could come into the picture?

It is possible through her mother (Hannah) that I could not find details about her parents/brothers and sisters

My father told me this:
My great grandfather (3).
Rabbi Mojzesz (Moshe) Majer (Meir) Katz Wartski, Parnas in Kalisz
Appointed to the position of rabbi and A.B.D. my great-grandfather (through my grandfather's mother):
Hagaon Hazadik Rabbe Jozef Zajdel, Ztk"l(Rabbi yosef hazadik),A.B.D.blaszki

my g.grandfather(2nd):
Rabbi Mojzesz (Moshe) Majer (Meir) Katz Wartski, Parnas in Kalisz
Appointed to the position of Rabbi and A.B.D. This great-grandfather of mine:
Hagaon Hakadosh Rabbi Mordke Eliyahu(Elias) Halter,ztk"l,A.B.D. Blaszki &Piotrkow
And after he passed away, my great-grandfather:
haZadik haNistar Grand Rabbi Menachem Benjamin (Benasz) Katz Wartski, ztk"l,son after son to Rabbi Yitzhak Katz - son-in-law of the Maharal from Prague
Appointed in his place as Rabbi and A.B.D. his son (from his first wife):

hagaon rabbi Elyiahu (Eliasz) Wartski (HaCohen)Zt"l, A.B.D. Piotrkow
And 3 great-grandchildren of Rabbi David Morgenstern (the second Admor of Kozk) married 3 descendants of members of the Wartski Hachoen family

So as you can see, in my family anything is possible

I was wrong, sorry, my great-grandfather (3) was
Rabbi Hersz Zv Katz Wartski, zt"l ( Leader of the Jewish community in Kalish)

R' Moshe Meir Wartski Hachoen is my g.grandfather(2nd)

Okay, I have the correction. I cannot help with "Halacha Lemoshe". That book could provide more clues.

I found something worth looking at from the Piotrkow Yizkor Book (https://www.jewishgen.org/yizkor/piotrkow/pit066.html):

1) Rabbi Meir Getz (1685-1732), the first Rabbi of Piotrkow and Lask (sharing the pulpit in both cities), served for 13 years after a hard and painful life. He was a great scholar and an active man, paving the way for the great Rabbis that followed him.

2) His son, Rabbi R.ElikimGetz(1705-1738), replaced his father for a short period at age 30 after serving as presiding dayan for 7 years. He was a great, learned man and passed away at the age of 32.

On GENI his profile אליקום געץ shows this Elyakhim as the father of R' Meir Weldfried Veltfreud whose spouse is Fogel Idel געץ But wait, there is more: this Elyakhim has a brother, according to GENI: Avraham Raicher

I remember you also have a Fogel and a Raychert on your tree, so this may be the Elyakhim Getz, or perhaps his grandfather (ABD Hildesheim) also named Elyakhim. I am not sure about what is shown on GENI because I do not have this branch repeated in Jacobi or Otser.

Many many Thanks,
I need to check in depth,
Things are also working out on the side of the Seidel/Zajdel family,
During the time of my great-great-grandfathers (4-5) there were riots among the Jews, and therefore many Jews changed their surname, and sometimes even used the surname of their father-in-law...
I need to check everything in depth and see if I can find references.... In Kalish I already answered me a long time ago that much information was destroyed by the Nazis
