Anne Catherine was the youngest of six children of Johann and Anna Catherina Schuler of Orangeburg District, South Carolina. She married Jacob Zeigler at the end of the Revolutionary War and in 1817 they migrated to Autauga County in what is now Alabama as original settlers with eight of their 11 children. Jaccob died November, 16, 1830 and she died January 26, 1833. They are buried in an abandoned cemetery in unmarked graves at the outskirts of Prattville, Alabama.
Some of their children and several generations of descendants are buried in the Zeigler Cemetery at Coosada.
