This says his mother's maiden name was Hoover, but doesn't give a first name. Atkins could be a middle name, or this could have been a second marriage for her and Atkins was her first married name.
Let me know what your thoughts are, and we can adjust the tree accordingly.
I have been trying for months to find anything. There is a story that his mother was shot and killed by his father. Though, I have not been able to find anything about such. I do have a request in to the historical society in Banner Springs, TN.
His only living daughter has dementia so she would not be of any help and I don't have contact info for his living son. I should have asked his wife/other children years ago.
