Seems to me I recall discussions (that I can't find now) of whether she actually was the "daughter of Tecumseh", as claimed, or whether that was modern mythmaking. (If Don Greene and "Shawnee Heritage" had anything to do with it, it's almost certainly BS.)

Notation from her record at Findagrave.com: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/155128975/jane-t-penn#view-phot...

This is a picture of Jaybird Cemetery. The below picture of said Jane "Jenny' Cross Penn is not a picture of her. She would have been in her 50's when photography was invented. This photo is of a younger female. I have tried to contact you and I believe others to this Trudy. You have turned off your messages. Also have changes to other files or additions and she declines them. Also with research that has been completed by several individuals Jane Cross is not a daughter of Tecumseh.

Whoever her husband "Shadrick Penn" was, he wasn't the son of John Penn and Elizabeth Waters - that one died in Baltimore County in 1805.

He also wasn't the son of Benjamin Penn and Dinah Acton, who had at most two wives (Ann Cheney 1779-before 1788), Margaret Holland, 1788-1830s). https://revwarapps.org/r8094.pdf
