Shadrach Penn, was born on January 8, 1756 in Maryland. On September 5, 1788 in Anne Arundel
County, Maryland, Shadrach married Margaret Holland, who was born on September 4, 1760 and died
July 27, 1843 in Scott County, Kentucky. He migrated to Kentucky with his brothers, Joseph and
Benjamin Penn, Jr., and settled in Scott County, Kentucky. His family in 1810 consisted of; 1 male under
10, 2 males 10-16, 1 male 45 plus, 1 female 10-16, 1 female 16-26, 1 female 26-45. Shadrach Penn died
in Scott County, Kentucky on June 6, 1831. He was a Revolutionary War soldier serving in the Maryland
line. His wife, Margaret, applied for pension September 5, 1838 in Scott County, Kentucky. Living
at the time of application were; Henry Penn, Trimble County, Kentucky and Warren Penn, a grandson,
William Penn made inquiry May 22, 1862 from Georgetown, Kentucky. The children of Shadrach and
Margaret as submitted with pension application are: Sarah, born July 5, 1781, Samuel, born
December 20, 1782, Shadrach, Jr., born May 22, 1791, Mary, born December 5, 1792, Nimrod,
born January 16, 1795, Margaret, born December 19, 1796, Henry, born October 1798, Warren, born
October 1, 1800 and John Wesley, born September 22, 1802. No further information is known.
This maens he was NOT the Shadrack or Shadrach Penn who married Jenny Cross, nor the husband at any time of Ann Chaney.
So it looks like we have a third, unaccounted-for Shadrach/k Penn out in the Midwest.
