The Augustine Blackburn family is somehow related to the Pres. Geo. Washington family through Mary Ball. I don't see any direct descent on Geni, though.

And Augustine's brother, Ambrose, is listed with the DAR as a patriot. There are land records in NC confirming the kinship between these brothers.

But I'm wondering how the surname "Blackman" became Blackburn here, because I doubt they are the same family.
