A female family member removed YDNA from her profile when asked and after you merged the duplicates for a profile I manage, I was able to remove the YDNA from a man who died before commercial DNA kits were available.
Problems arise when people attach SOMEONE ELSE'S DNA to their OWN profile...
This can be in error or due to ignorance of how DNA works and while DNA can be very helpful, it can also be misleading
