I was working on this line in my tree and searching for documentation on the connections. I came across this PDF that lists the father of this Symon as Richard Hull:

It doesn't list a mother for Symon or any parents for Richard.

There aren't any profile notes with sources or documentation from this Symon back here on Geni. In fact, when you get to his supposed grandfather

Hugh, has two father's attached but no mother. Someone started at discussion about that in 2022 and I just posted there as well since nothing was ever corrected, still no sources or documentation.

So, as far as I can tell, beyond this Symon is questionable since Geni has his father as Robert and the PDF has him as Richard and there's nothing else at all on Geni to validate any of the names or connections from Symon back.

Thanks in advance for any help better documenting these connections, fixing the two-father situation for Hugh, etc.

Additional Googling showed me that most sites that have anything at all for these folks have Symon's father as Robert, not Richard - but none have documentation.

This site:

doesn't have documentation but does offer a lineage from Symon on back:

It shows an extra generation - that Symon's father was Robert whose father was Hugh (no mother given) and that Hugh was then the son of Hugh and Ewyn. Then it has the first Hugh's parents as:

Oseberre De La Hull , De la Hull, born about 1134 - France, deceased about 1200 - France aged about 66 years old

and

Ayleth of Normandy , De Normandie, born about 1135 - Normandie, France, deceased in 1187 aged about 52 years old

which at least sheds light on the two 'fathers' attached to him here on Geni. Ayleth is his mother, not an extra father. So I'll change the sex on that profile.

So I went to change the gender on Ayleth's profile and noticed that Geni has her and her husband Hugh both children of fathers named Ozwell de Hill born 1131 and died 1164, so that would be a brother-sister marriage. I think it's more likely another error on these lines.

This site doesn't list parents for Ayleth:

which is probably correct.

Her husband's profile lists the parents attributed to Ayleth here on Geni:

So I'm going to disconnect the parents from Ayleth unless someone can document that she married her brother.
