My preference for adding place pf birth is using the historic geographic place and then appending the current location in parens. Does Geni have a preference? The reason I ask is a dispute i had with a curator who co-manged a profile with me. I asked him to to change the birthplace from the current location to the historic location, while including the current location in parens. He grew angry and refused. The location field was locked, so I walked away from the dispute. Recently, he changed the historic birthplace I had entered in a another profile we co-manage,to the current birthplace. He then locked all the fields, so I could not edit the profile. It struck me as an abuse of curator power. Am I just creating a tempest in a teapot?
