I'm getting really confused on Family Search records because it says there are 2 John Kahahawai's born within 4 years of each other.
~ the mother and wife have the same name as well, so that's confusing except, I am assuming in his generation that polygamous and incest marriages were still happening with the Ali'i, so it's possible. There weren't a lot of rules regarding sex back in pre-colonial Hawai'i so I don't think people always knew who the exact father was. Hence there is just one word for family and community, ohana.
