Jacobi is uncertain as to the Kohenite status of this lineage. On the title page of his book, Erin Millin, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Rappaport_Erekh_Milin.JPG, the name is written as Shlomo Yehuda Leyb Kahan Rapaport. However, it is possible that he assumed the Kahana name from his father-in-law. The Jewish Encyclopedia article does not refer to him as a Kahan:https://www.jewishencyclopedia.com/articles/12576-rapoport#294. This question could possibly be answered if the gravestone c1867 can be located in Prague.
