I have been looking unsuccessfully for an actual record identifying Silas’s parents. I have looked at birth registries for Litchfield County and have not found Silas listed as a son of Elihu Allen. I’ve also looked at Massachusetts birth records and haven’t found one there either. I’m also looking for an actual marriage record for Silas and Louise to support the International Marriage Index. Too much conflicting information with Census data and obituaries for the children which identify MA and VT as birth locations for Silas and Louise.
I do not trust information from Family Trees as I’ve yet to see any actual source record other than other family trees.
