I am trying to find the marriage record for John and Florence, and death information for John William Norton. He was the wife of Florence who was buried in Oyen in Oct 1922. Their daughter Violet born 1912 is my spouse's grandmother. John's sister Beatrice married Carl Ganser in Alberta in 1916, and they raised Violet after Florence's death.
Familysearch.org has the death certificate for Florence, her findagrave record, and the censuses of 1911, 1916, and 1921. Exhaustive searches have failed to find anything on John's death. John was discharged from the military in early 1919. The 1921 census has Florence as widowed. John's death would then be between spring 1919 and June 1921.
For the marriage of John and Florence, John's military record shows that it was verified in order to get support payments for Florence & Violet. It shows Feb 2, 1910 but no location, and I have not been able to find a record.
