Difficult to obtain Users cooperation in adding a Profile to a Project

I am a big fan of Projects. They are a natural adjunct to rote genealogy of people. I want every qualified profile to belong to at least one suitable project. Everyone was born somewhere right? They died somewhere.

Geni is so big now that recovering a failed addition is very tedious. There is no notification of a failed Project Addition request.

When I uncover profiles of people that should belong to a certain Project I send a message to the Profile member requesting Project addition. On average about half of these requests are ignored. I have created several work arounds that help defeat the Profile Manager's lack of interest. But the problem remains.

I think the Profile manager's desired action of Project Addition should be eased by a back up path that does not stop at the Profile Manager but would offer a automatic yes or descriptive no path around the Manager.

Thanks for your interest in this issue. Maybe you know of some working arrangement that helps solve the unresponsive manager of a profile issue.

Hi Dan,
I'm a volunteer Geni curator who loves projects. (So many curators do.) :)
Like you, I love to add public profiles to suitable projects even when I'm not a manager of one of those profiles.
If you would like my assistance, I will complete such legitimate requests.

You can private message me, if you please. Once again, public profiles only..

As to the automatic feature you suggest, I might understand that it might not be good policy. Wide open choice about such things might be taken advantage of by bad actors. Even though such miscreants might be few, it would be annoying...

Example... It's not too infrequent that volunteer curators are asked to REMOVE profiles from projects. The work involved is lessened when there are intermediary steps that need to be taken to ADD a profile to a public project.

In good faith,
Mike vB
