The son of this Samuel Lane, also named Samuel, was a Baptist preacher, but I've not seen any reliable source documenting the elder Samuel as a minister using the title "reverend." I'm removing the title until someone provides a source other than a user-generated family tree. The "Confirmed Matches" may actually be for the son, not the father, and in any case, neither GenealogieOnline nor FamilySearch Family Tree are very reliable sources, since they're full of errors and often don't cite their own sources.
