Hi Folks - I noticed that Private User (Ruben Eugèn Mentzoni) disconnected the person previously attached as the mother, one Helena Ranesdatter. I don't doubt that this was done out of healthy skepicism, but I think that when there are parentage changes there ought to be evidence - or statements about the lack of evidence - provided in the discussion or overview sections for the person. Otherwise geni.com trees just become random connections without any genealogical evidence for the next person to weigh.

Hey Chris.

I agree with you, people should give some sort of rationale when cutting of relationships like this. The reason that I didn't do it this time is that the information needed is on other profiles.

I tried to add NN as Karl's mother yesterday, but I didn't manage for some reason. When I tried again now, I managed. There is plenty of evidence in that profile that Elin Ranesdotter wasn't the wife of Peder Nilsen (and mother of his children). See also Elin Ranesdatter Selvik.
