The Tongue Is Fire: South African Storytellers and Apartheid By Harold Scheub, page 44 talks about Mqoloza, the younger brother of Sarhili, both being sons of King Hintsa and his Great Wife, MaTshezi Nomsa kaNtshunqe kaGambushe of the Bomvana.
Struggle and Hope: Reflections on the recent history of the Transkeian People By Mda Mda, page 25 says Nongxokozelo was "the queen’s younger sister". This is close to the truth but not factually correct.
Indeed Nongxokozelo was like a sister to Queen Novili MamTshawe as their fathers were brothers. I don't know why Mr Mda Mda didn't make it clear in this book because in a conversation I had with him, he confirmed that indeed Nongxokozelo was the daughter of Mqoloza, the younger brother of Sarhili.
Mr Mda Mda was one of the Senior Councillors of the late Xhosa King Xolilizwe kaZwelidumile. He knows quite a lot about the Xhosa Royal Family.
