I am the granddaughter of Ludwig and Mina Ullmann. My father was Josef (Joseph) Ullmann. I'm interested in learning more about our family history. I am so happy that our family left Germany and came to the US. I wonder how or why they left when they did. Did they have family/friends who helped them? My father told me they took the Queen Mary from England to Virginia and then settled in Brooklyn, NY. My father and his sister, Ellen, are both deceased. My father died in 2009 and Ellen died in 1985.
