I am only one of two managers and I adopted the profile so know very little.
I received this in my Geni inbox and hope someone can help. TIA:

I am contacting you about this profile: Nenon Armstrong

You have Alexander Armstrong (1703-1733) listed as his father and then Capt. Jack "Black Jack" Armstrong (abt. 1665-1745) listed as his grandfather, and then you have Edward "from the border" Armstrong (1604-abt. 1650) listed as his great-grandfather. I was wondering how you came to this conclusion, and what evidence you have to support this conclusion?

I have not been able to find Jack "Black Jack" Armstrong listed anywhere, so am wondering where he and Alexander came from?

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated as I have been stuck for parents for Nenon Armstrong for 14 years.

Sincerely,

R Armstrong

I backtracked my original research to see from whence I got Alexander Armstrong came from as the parent; and it came from my research on Ancestry when I first discovered Nenon as an ancestor. If Alexander isn't correct and is a fictitious connection I'm going to feel incredibly embarrassed. But considering that there was pre-existing information that I had seen elsewhere years back from when I started my genealogical journey, I also have to wonder where they got the info too? Either way, if it's wrong, 100% it's my fault.

Adam.

Adam Joseph Scott oh no please DON'T feel embarrassed!
The process of proving or disproving a line is very difficult and we often make mistakes along the way but often times these public discussions are so helpful for comparing the research of many people so I am happy to be a co manager with you and I trust we will find more clarity simply by asking the questions

Thank you. Thing is, I remember seeing somewhere the baptismal record of Nenon somewhere and no mother was listed but somewhere a Alexander Armstrong was the dad. Nenon being Irish may have had the issue of lost records in a 1922 fire in Ireland in the archives.

Read about it here if you do not know. Somewhat related, not to Nenon though.
