Question--- is this Elizabeth the correct one for the service in the Revolutionary War?: Elizabeth Venable
I do see the info is correct for Elizabeth Michaux Venable and her family but the "SERVICE BELONGS TO A DIFFERENT ELIZABETH VENABLE" and I think the dates match for this one!
How do I find which is correct? I would like to ADD her to the DAR project but need direction, please.

The two are first cousins:

Hello Cynthia Curtis, A183502, US7875087 I will look at this.

Cynthia Curtis, A183502, US7875087 This line is closed, at least for now. There was an Elizabeth Venable who performed a service making her eligible to be a DAR Patriot, however, upon closer examination, DAR decided she was a different person. Someday, a descendant may submit papers for that other lady, & if they are approved we will find out who she is, where she lived, etc.
Also, if you are in Washington, DC, go to the NSDAR library and inquire what they know about the Patriot Elizabeth Venable. I would expect that they would be able to tell you what she did and where the "service" took place. At the very least I would expect it was in a different county. Just guessing.

That doesn't mean that the genealogy isn't correct. That's a great thing about the Patriots with Red Flags. Even if there is confusion about the service, the genealogy can still be perfectly useful. I hope I have helped answer your question.

Thank you so much, Faustine Darsey on partial hiatus
I am curious if we know the identity of the actual female patriot because these two are first cousins to one another. The one not listed at DAR is my direct ancestor and I would love to be able to say this record was meant for her
First cousins are difficult in genealogy lol
