I have noticed lately that the suffix field in a profile's name has been taken over by wars that the person participated in, or police officer or 9/11 survivor. Is this allowed, or specifically, what are the rules concerning suffixes? I thought suffixes were for Sr., Jr., III, IV, etc., doctoral or law degrees or perhaps a military designation, but not rank.
